About Wits Business Review
About the WBR The Wits Business Review (WBR)—officially the Wits Business School Review of Business, Management and Strategy—is a forward-looking academic and practitioner journal dedicated to reshaping how business and management research is conceived and applied across Africa. Hosted by the Wits Business School (WBS), the WBR is more than a journal: it is a vibrant platform for critical inquiry, strategic insight, and actionable knowledge that bridges academia, policy, and practice.Rooted in Africa and connected to the world, the WBR highlights the continent's business innovations, contextual challenges, and entrepreneurial spirit. It serves as a knowledge hub that aligns with WBS’s mission of academic excellence, societal relevance, and global influence.
Why the WBR?
Africa's stories, strategies, and innovations remain underrepresented in global discourse. The WBR was conceived to change this reality by addressing persistent gaps in the literature and creating a forum for research that:- Reflects the realities and diversity of African markets and enterprises.
- Translates academic theory into practical strategies for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
- Champions African-led thinking and showcases the continent as a laboratory of innovation, resilience, and growth.
- Connects disciplines and promotes sustainable, inclusive, and ethical business practices across the continent.
By doing so, the WBR places Africa at the heart of global conversations about business transformation, innovation, and strategic management.
